Martin Nelson, MacLean Power Systems, made a Hole-In-One on the PAR 4 Hole # 4 Blue ! Thanks to Levand Steel for sponsoring the Hole-In-One with a $500.00 check for Martin Nelson. According to Tommie Horton, this is the 2nd Hole-In-One at the AFS Birmingham Chapter Golf Outing. A special thanks goes out to everyone that organized and made it all happen.

The Chapter would like to thank all of the companies that sponsored tee-box ads, provided golfer gift bag items, and donated door prizes. Your generous donations allow the Birmingham Chapter to be able to put on such an incredible golf event. We show our appreciation for everything that was given by acknowledging those organizations with sponsor signs and giving mention to those companies.

Over $1,100 was raised for the students through the sale of mulligans. We want to thank the students of the University of Alabama-Birmingham for all of their hard work and taking time out of their busy Fall class schedules to participate in the golf outing. They helped the chapter with selling mulligans, putting tee-box signs out and retrieving them, delivering much needed refreshments to all the golfers out on the course, tallying the scores, and passing out door prizes. The student chapters will also receive a share of the tee-box ads.

In addition to golf, horseshoes, bingo, food, prizes, and fellowship completed the day for the Ben Dunning Picnic And Golf Outing.

Our first technical meeting will be at The Matterhorn located in the Quintard Mall in Oxford/Anniston on September 13th. We invite all the regular members from the Birmingham area to make the short trip to Anniston and we also encourage all of the local Anniston foundries and suppliers to bring everyone you can. Mr. Ted Schorn with Enkei America will be speaking on Quality Management for Safety. So please make your reservations now and plan to be in Anniston on September 13th!!!!!!
